News Cycle Roundup: 4/7/2009

Good Tuesday morning!

Here are some of the news stories hitting my Google Reader this morning (and a couple from yesterday).

SciAm: Remember Olestra (Olean)? it was supposed to be the miracle fat-reducing chemical added in fatty foods like chips and cookies. Well, now the scientists at Procter and Gamble have found another use for it: Paints and Lubricants . No, seriously. and if you're wondering--yes, they do still use it in some foods.

Michelle Bachmann: OK, so yes I did call for American loyalty tests before, but that's old. Now I have new news: The government is planning re-education camps for our young kids .

Jeff Emanuel, Redstate: The Dems are hiding vocuher results until they can eliminate the program.

TNR: Did you really have to wake the President for North Korea's triennial Missile Launch Fail ?

The NY-20 See-saw results continue .

Conor Clarke: Let's not let the newspapers die ; the government should help them.

Marc Ambinder: Conor, have you seen what the government does when it bails out private entities? Let's NOT bail them out .

Reason: Your government is paying private companies to do silly crap ..again.

This is becoming so common, it's almost not newsworthy.

And how important is package design in advertising? This important .
