RIP rdf
Long-time SC regulars may recall that rdf posted here for a while. Apparently he has passed away
. SC certainly wasn't his primary online home, but he provoked some good discussions here and participated in the community, so I thought I'd put up a note.
My impression was that rdf appreciated the contrast between "blue" and "red" in terms of political debate, so this picture of his seems as good a marker to put here as any. RIP.

I'm sorry to say I didn't know him
In any case, I'm very sorry to hear of his death.

I didn't know Robert Feinmann either,
but my thoughts are with his family during these difficult times, nonetheless.
Thank you Brendan
To me, this is one of the great beauties of the internet: it provides people with ways to participate and engage regardless of age, infirmity, gender, appearance, physical location, or social status.
"Robert suffered from MDS, and was quite frail for the last few months. Keeping at the blogging kept his mind happy while his body wasted away"
Whether one agreed with him or not, rdf wrote from the heart. We didn't know MDS had control of his body. We didn't need to. RIP.

Sad news,
rdf was one of the more introspective diarists here, and he jump-started some really great discussions back in the day. I just went back and re-read some of his work, which I understand he'd collected into an electronic book. Sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
