What? No Election Night Thread On SC? Say It Isn't So...

I just couldn't let the evening expire without opening a thread for us to discuss the mid terms of 2010.

Now I know for many of us here at SC, this may just be to painful a task, with your unexplicable reversal of fortune and profound change in direction of the political winds that currently blow accross our great nation.

On the other hand, I also suspect that won't stop some of you either... LOL!

Red everywhere...

Despite doing everything but offer cash handouts for votes, the Dems were swept in Ohio, Toomey wins in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, New Mexico, are no longer blue states, Penn and Mich local governments have gone Republican, and an incredibly diverse Republican contingent has been swept into office, the Republicans will rewrite the districts going forward, and in fact, it is an undeniable fact;

AMERICA IS ONCE AGIAN A SEA OF RED!

What color is spilt blood?

No cash handouts, just fairly implicit claims that there will be a jobs bonanza if they vote for the (R)'s and what not.

Wasn't there that Democrat that tried to get that ad that urged Latinos to not vote because the group that made the ad thought it would help fellow Latinos?

You must be ambivalent about that

as a purplebar .

I'm kind of "meh" about it.  We lost some good people (Feingold, not Grayson), but whether we held the house or not, nothing was going to get done in the next two years anyway.  And now house Republicans can try to cut taxes, balance the budget and slash spending across the board except for SS, medicare, medicaid, defense and earmarks vital to their member's reelection prospects.  The Bush economic bust is still raging, and they get their turn with the mop now.

Actually, losing the FL and OH governorships was probably the worst aspect in terms of impact on 2012 and beyond.
