Hello, Hello.....Is anyone here?

I used to write occasionally here several years ago, and then things slowed down. I was pretty content on Dailykos in spite of those who wouldn't allow any deviation from the orthodox progressive positions. I picked my topics, and actually enjoyed the place. But as some of you know they have changed the format dramatically.

There's something called groups, which are sort of sub blogs that anyone can set up and then be the boss. The founder gets to decide who can write and edit articles, and....it's really really complicated. But there seems to be even more enforcement of the rules, specifically no "conservative talking points." Of course, left wing talking points are encouraged, and the louder the better.

I'm still a liberal, especially in contrast to the current crop of Republicans, who seem to have their own brand of magical method of deficit reduction. Its like A is composed of a1 plus a2, and you promise to cut A in half without touching the two sub a categories. And the current candidates, save Rand Paul, all claim they can perform this magic, but only if you claim that you will with the requisite passion. I wrote a great essay (I hate the term diary) that relates to this from a personal level, but I just don't feel right posting it on Dailykos.

I look forward to comments here to get a feel of the tone on this site.
