I've only played Diplomacy online once, and it was pretty fun, but there are other games I like alot more. And there are literally hundreds I'd rather play face-to-face. Boardgames are one of my favorite leisure activities of all time.
The online Diplomacy game I was in was "blind." No one knew who was playing whom. I ended up completely screwing over the only two other players that I knew personally. It was pretty funny when I found out who they were later on! There was also a lot of very creative messages sent back and forth, with everyone really getting into their roles as Kaisers, Kings Czars, etc.

Right now, the schedule is for movement deadlines to fall every three days (excluding Sundays), with retreat and adjustment phases taking 24 hours. I'm very flexible with deadlines, though, especially since the game will likely include at least two, and maybe more, first time players.

Threatening to put a freeze on Iran's biggest bank, the Iranians have responded by withdrawing funds from European markets, and chosen Asian markets instead.
Rising oil revenues have strengthened Iran's hand along with their decision to shift away from trading in US dollars.
Iran continues to insist that their nuclear plants are to generate electricity only, so that they can preserve more of their most precious asset, oil.

My only complaints about that guy getting shot:
- He won't spend the rest of his life getting beaten up and raped in prison.
- He can't be brought back to life and shot again.
Unless the guy was absolutely batsh*t insane -- and I mean INSANE insane -- no punishment could be to severe in my book. I realize that that feeling conflicts with my knowledge that free will is an illusion, but, well f-ck that.
People like that
deserve to be fried to a crisp.
