Palin's speech was aggressive and well-delivered. Here is a fact check
of her and the other speakers yesterday. McCain is up tonight.

Well delivered
Now there's a phrase that can be interpreted many different ways.
MLK's speech at the Lincoln Memorial was well delivered.
Hitler's speeches were also well delivered.
Does hate sound better if it is delivered well?

No it doesn't matter...
Your hate is delivered terribly - and it doesn't come off any better than Hitlers.

What is becoming obvious to me ...
is that Red_Wing is actually right when he says that the left is actually scared of Sarah Palin as the VP pick. I would have to say that Sarah Palin is the first good decision I have ever seen McCain make. Let's hope it's a trend in the making.
In fact, it might just be worth it to suffer through McCain just to set Palin up for a run at the top spot. :)

I would say that some on the left
underestimated her capabilities and are realizing that she's not going to simply collapse under the weight of new revelations about her record, she's going to punch back.
The thing is, though, that Obama's already been through all this, during the primaries, and while the attacks were perhaps not as sharp they were coming from people who had the stature to convincingly deliver them.
I think Palin gave a great speech to Republicans. I don't think Dems have to be too concerned about losing Independents as a result of the Palin pick, based on what I've seen so far.
Come, my friends. 'Tis not too late to seek a newer world -- Tennyson
Palin did well by attacking Oil Companies
...but not because of some contrived, unexplained injustice. She attacked them for being an entrenched interest that wants special treatment. She attacked them for not wanting competition. She attacked them for resisting good reform.
Good lessons on how libertarian-sounding rhetoric can work and appeal to all people.
Now, regardless of what the facts on the matter are, she will get high scores for such remarks all the way around because she attacks this reviled interest group but makes it clear it's not for some socialist-sounding vendetta.
But beyond all that, she was appealing as a person and even though that shouldn't matter in elections to the extent that it does, it will.
Palin did harm to the Dems last night
It's as simple as that. Best they acknowledge it and act accordingly if they want to win.
Some of these comments make my point ...
See the comments section at the end and read some of the ones from the left. Can you say desparation and anxiety over Palin?

Her first job was as a Local TV host so she has the polish
for going in front of people.
Palin isn't going to elect McCain and she isn't going to sink McCain. McCain is sinking McCain.
The right loves this stuff and eats it up. What anyone needs to win this year's election is to convince the middle. Republican's playing to the most conservative elements of their party ain't going to do that & Rove's best isn't scaring America from voting for Obama.
I forsee McCain's people running on fluff and feigned affrontery . It's already started. Yesterday McCain was trying to peddle the idea that Palin "commanded" the Alaska National Guard on national TV. They could run a campaign on bs when most folks were doing well (during the Clinton years) and they were able to scare Americans to keep dubya in '04, but the same tactics arent going to work this year.
And god forbid, if issues do start getting aired.....McCain will be riding the Lead Blimp without any of Jimmy Pages hot licks.
Lets keep in mind who refused the townhalls!

Palin's AIP ideals.Familiar with Christian Dominionist movement?
The Alaska Independent Party is linked to the US Constitution Party. Here are the "platforms"
of these. To me, it isn't very pretty nor my idea of freedom.

Deist get no respect from the Consitution Party?
How nice of the Constitutional Party to grant "religious freedom" but impose legal restrictions based on their views of the English translations of the Bible.

That's another stretch
Actually the best place to go for the AIP platform is the actual AIP web page
. From what I've read, they're generally a moderate libertarian party with obvious nationalist streaks.
There is no need to try and make these people out to be something they aren't. Your attempt to link them to the Constitution Party is no different than Red_Wing's attempts to link the DSA with mainstream Democrats.
I support quite a bit of the AIP's platform. Does that make me anti-American or a Dominionist? Ohio's Constitution has a provision that requires us to reaffirm the document every 20 years. I think that's a good idea. I think the AIP ought to get what it wants -- a vote to determine whether or not to become independent or not. The Alaskans will very likely vote it down. Really, what's the harm here?

I think that links them pretty substantially.

For one reason
The Constitution Party is the premier states' rights backer. If you'll read the platform, you'll notice they don't take any position on abortion, except that public funds shouldn't be used to pay for it.

There was apparently three of them
I saw two of them, apparently missed the first or they weren't on camera. The ones I saw had Code Pink "uniforms" on under more conservative clothing which they partially stripped off. This guy must have been the third one that I did not see.
From a quick visit to the Code Pink website, I see that they are proudly claiming credit for having 2 hecklers interrupt Palin's speech
(missed that, maybe they didn't make it on camera the), and they were released, so I'm guessing that this was probably the same two.
