The world will struggle to raise oil output to levels much greater than 100 million barrels per day, Thierry Desmarest, chief executive of Total, has given warning. The head of the French energy multinational is sceptical that the global oil industry can raise output from current levels of 85 million bpd to meet demand forecasts by the International Energy Agency of 120 million bpd by 2030.

I keep seeing these calls on dkos for "massive" boycotts of ABC/Disney and whatever else they own - and all their advertisers. Do the people on dkos realize how tiny their number really is and how they would have about 0 impact even if 5-10% of them did decide to fully boycott ABC and all their advertisers?

Let's see... There might be 10-20,000 active users on dkos and maybe another 10-20,000 lurkers who are swayable. I will be charitable and say 30% of this total number decides on a full boycott (heh I really doubt more than 5% would ever stick with anything like that for over a month). 30% of the max 40,000 is  12,000. 12,000 people who already are very anti-corporate (to even consider such silliness) out of 300,000,000+ Americans is really going to affect ABC and all their sponsors.

Their best bet is to keep trying to intimidate the players involved and the sponsors by mass spam. Mass boycott is impossible from such a community.

In a statement, ABC says the miniseries is being edited to deal with some of the concerns amidst a flurry of pressure from democrats, pressure that Tom Kean believes is unjustified.

  "That's totally uncalled for, I mean there's one thing we have in this country, It's artistic freedom and no politician ought to tell a TV Network what to do with their entertainment programs."

So Kean also admits to fabrications in the film to which he was a paid consultant.  Looks like he's trying to have it both ways.

It proves my point perfectly if he does ban me. This whole discussion started because of pressure to pull PT911. He believes that it shouldn't be pulled and that false statements should be aired in the name of freedom of speech. Dems leadership should not use their power to stop Disney from airing flammatory and false statements.

I obligided. But it shows his hypocrisy in trying to use his power to ban me not because of profanity but because he can't answer simple questions that point out his illogical and irrational arguments.
