What strikes my fancy is the most interesting discussions were the ones where passions ran hot.

If folks get mutually into a feisty exchange on some topic, I think that's great (so long as it stays on the right side of the posting rules).
In this particular case, I didn't want to put people up in crosshairs ("oh, I remember that terrible post XYZ") when my intention was only to provide a fun roadmap of where a lot of the chatter on SC took place over the past year.
